During the 2023 edition of the festival, I’ll join a plenary panel to discuss incentives. In a later session, I’ll also introduce SciCom NL as a relevant community for advancing open science and particularly public engagement.
COMPASSS summer school
Speaker at COMPASSS, the COMmunication (between) Physics And Society Summer School in August 2023, focusing on academic culture and relevant policy developments. The school is an initiative by Ivo van Vulpen and Margriet van der Heijden.

#SciCommLunch is an online inspiration session run by prof. Gera Nagelhout of the IVO Institute. Every month, it features a different guest who is active in science communication. I was a guest in May 2023.
Reviewing NEWS
I was honoured to review the action plan for a National Expertise Centre Science & Society, written by quartermasters Alex Verkade and Ionica Smeets. The action plan was commissioned by science minister Robbert Dijkgraaf and appeared in April 2023.
Reviewing Rewarded!
Rewarded! is an advice to knowledge institutions by the KNAW (Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences) from October 2022. It deals with recognizing and rewarding communicating researchers. I had the honour of reviewing the advice.
Course ‘Science Communication for Societal Impact’
Lecture for AESIS’ online science communication course in October 2022. As a trainer, I focused on the interplay between academic culture and science communication.
